Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Makes 100


Ingredients:

DRY
3 cups 750 mL whole wheat flour
5 cups 1250 mLslow oats
2 tsp 10 mL baking soda
1 tsp 5 mL salt
WET
2 cups 500 mL butter
2 cups 500 mL brown sugar
1/4 cup 60 mL milk
4 tsp 20 mL vanilla extract
4 4 eggs
EXTRA
3 cups 750 mL chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Beat butter and sugar until smooth.
  2. Beat in milk, eggs, and vanilla.
  3. Separately, mix flour, oats, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Add "dry" mixture to "wet" mixture in thirds. After each third, beat until well-mixed.
  5. Mix in the chocolate chips. The mixture will have to be mixed by hand because it will be very stiff.
  6. Form into "walnut-sized" balls (2.5 cm / 1 inch) and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  7. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10 - 15 minutes. They will not spread.
  8. Move to racks to cool.
